Executive Decree No. 234 appoints Carlos A. Hoyos as acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Lizbeth Hernández Altafulla as acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. These appointments are effective upon taking office and are due to the temporary absence of the incumbent, Javier Eduardo Martínez-Acha Vásquez, who is on an official mission. The positions will be held by the designees from September 29 to October 10, 2026.

The Municipal Council of Changuinola approves the 2026 investment budget, funded by real estate tax (IBI) proceeds, totaling 942,665.12 balboas. The document details 34 community projects, including improvements to schools, educational centers, parks, road infrastructure, sports facilities, monuments, and waste management systems in various corregimientos of the district.
